NBA DFS: Kawhi Leonard and top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy basketball picks for March 22, 2021

The NBA schedule has an eight-game slate on Monday, which means the NBA DFS player pool is filled with quite a bit of quality talent. Among the potential superstar NBA DFS picks taking the court includes San Antonio’s DeMar DeRozan, who is coming off a 22-point, 13-assist game on Saturday. DeRozan and the Spurs head into a potential shootout against Gordon Hayward and the Hornets at 8:30 p.m. ET. Chicago’s Zach Lavine has also been a stellar NBA DFS target, and he leads the Bulls against the Utah Jazz at 9 p.m. ET.

Are you wise to target either DeRozan, Hayward or Lavine as part of your Monday NBA DFS strategy? And what other talent should you consider for daily Fantasy basketball tournaments, 50-50s and cash games on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel? Before locking in any NBA DFS lineups for Monday’s action, be sure to see the NBA DFS advice, player rankings and top daily Fantasy basketball lineups from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Monday, March 22 NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Monday, March 22

One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for his Monday NBA daily Fantasy lineups is Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard at $8,900 on DraftKings and $9,500 on FanDuel. Always known as a defender, Leonard is averaging 26.0 points per game to go with 6.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per outing. Leonard is coming off a modest game, recording 17 points, four assists, four steals and three rebounds against the Hornets on Saturday. But it was a blowout victory for the Clippers and Leonard sat out the entire fourth quarter.

The good news that comes from Leonard resting early in his last game is that he should be fully energized for Monday’s contest. He should also enjoy playing at the Staples Center as Leonard averages 27.9 points per game when playing at home compared to 24.6 points per game on the road. The two-time Finals MVP will lead the Clippers against the Hawks on Monday, and in Leonard’s last game vs. Atlanta (which came in 2019), he had 31 points, six assists and six steals.

Part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Bucks guard Jrue Holiday at $6,800 on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Holiday is delivering 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.9 assists this season. That includes a 21-point, five-rebound, three-assist effort on Saturday against the Spurs.

That 21-point effort marked Holiday’s highest-scoring game since Feb. 1 as he also missed 10 games in February due to health and safety protocols. After being eased back into the lineup for the first few games after his return, Holiday is now a full-go and has averaged 18.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game over his last four outings.

He will be especially excited to play the Pacers on Monday as he gets to face his two brothers, Justin and Aaron. In three career games vs. both of his brothers, Jrue Holiday is averaging 20.7 points per game and McClure recommends rostering him in all NBA DFS formats on Monday.
